Stigler Distinguished Service Professor of Economics at The University of Chicago in both the Graduate School of Business and the Department of Economics. He specializes in microeconomics, labor economics, price theory, industrial organization, and statistics. Recognized widely as one of the nation’s best economists, he was awarded the 1999 John Bates Clark Medal given biannually to an influential American economist under the age of forty with the most distinguished research record. In 2005, he was the first business school professor to be named a MacArthur Fellow, commonly known as the MacArthur "Genius Grant." He consults and serves as the testifying expert in antitrust, intellectual property, labor discrimination and regulation matters and has also consulted in a wide range of economic policy and research topics. Among other high profile engagements, Kevin served as Microsoft’s expert witness in connection with the Department of Justice’s monopolization investigation. Kevin earned his Ph.D. in economics at the University of Chicago.
